MacBean Clan

Possibly derived from the Gaelic word bheahtain – meaning lively one – the MacBean clan are a Highland clan closely related to the Chattan clan.

The historic seat of clan MacBean is at Kinchyle in Inverness-shire. However, this building was sold in 1759.

The current clan chief of clan MacBean is James McBain of McBain. James has been chief since 19th May 1977.
