The Macdonalds of Keppoch are a branch of the Macdonald clan – one of the largest clans in Scotland.
While the main branch of Clan Donald are associated with Domhnall mac Raghnaill – the eponymous progenitor of the clan, the Macdonalds of Keppoch are instead descended from Alistair Carrach MacDonald who was a younger son of Good John of Islay, Lord of the Isles – who was the 6th chief of Clan Donald.
The traditional seat of the clan was located at Keppoch Castle near Spean Bridge in Lochaber. The castle was demolished in 1663 after a dispute with the previous years.
The current clan chief is Ranald Alasdair Macdonald of Keppoch.
