Mar Clan

Named after the Earldom of Mar, an ancient territory in Aberdeenshire, the Mar Clan have remained in the area they originally took their name from.

The historic seat of the clan was at Kildrummy Castle, believed to have been one of the most extensive castles in medieval Scotland and one of the biggest to survive to this day – although partially ruined.

The current clan chief of Clan Mar is Margaret of Mar, 31st Countess of Mar.
