Pringle Clan

Deriving their name from a place in the Parish of Stow, near Galashiels, the Pringle clan were originally referred to has the Hoppringles.

The clan would become associated with the Scottish Lowlands, particularly the Scottish Borders. They would hold castles at Hoppringle and Torsonce and would also build the imposing Smailholm Tower, near Kelso.

The current clan chief is Sir Murray Pringle, 10th Baronet.
