Deriving their name from Ros, near Caen in Normandy, the Rose Clan are of Norman origin and appear to have settled in Scotland around the 13th century.
The family would originally settle at the Moray Firth in the North of Scotland and it is near here that their historic clan seat would be located at Kilravock Castle, near Croy.
The current clan chief of Clan Rose is David Rose, 26th of Kilravock.
