Somerville Clan

Coming from Norman origin, the Somerville name is derived from the town of Somerville, near Caen in Normandy.

The clan would eventually come to Britain in 1066 with William the Conqueror and would come to Scotland under the reign of David I in the 12th century where they would be given lands at Carnwath.

The Somerville clan is armigerous – meaning that it has no current clan chief.
