Stewart of Appin Clan

Clan Stewart of Appin is a branch of Clan Stewart which originated in the 15th century and can link their origin to Sir James Stewart of Perston.

The clan are now separate from the main Clan Stewart and are associated with Appin in the West Highlands. It is here that their traditional clan seat is located at Castle Stalker, situated on a tidal islet at Loch Laich.

The current clan chief is Andrew Francis Stewart of Lorn, Appin and Ardsheal, 17th of Appin & 12th of Ardsheal.
