Taylor Clan

Deriving their name from the French tailler, meaning “to cut”, the Taylor family is first recorded in Scottish history in 1137.

The family would go on to settle in the Scottish Highlands and would also control Kirktonhill Castle in Angus, the clan seat for a period of time.

Clan Taylor is armigerous – meaning it has no clan chief.
