Trotter Clan

Deriving their name from the French trotier, meaning “runner” or “messenger”, the Trotter Clan would go on to be associated with the district of Berwickshire – where they would follow Clan Home on many forays over the border into England.

The chief clan would eventually acquire a mansion house at Morton Hall, south of Edinburgh, in the 19th century, a place that would serve as their clan seat.
